When to Book

first 14 days | baby will be the easiest to pose and keep asleep

14 days+ | baby will take longer to settle and will probably have eyes open in some photos

I will reach out to you once your session is booked and your questionnaire is filled out. We will plan outfits and setups.


If you would like to include family or sibling photos with baby we will take them in the first 30 minuets of our session.


Please keep in mind that the studio must remain extremely quiet during newborn sessions to allow baby to settle into poses.

What to expect


TIMING

It can typically take 2-4 hours for our studio and lifestyle newborn sessions. Please make plans to spend at least this much

time with me. The baby is in charge so I like to give enough time for feeding, cuddles and calming baby. I want this

experience to be as stress free as possible.

SIBLINGS

If you are including siblings in your session those photos will be taken first. If sibling stays for the 'just baby' session

afterword please bring or prepare entertainment or quiet toys. It is essential that we create a quiet calm space for the newborn session to ensure baby stays asleep and relaxed during posing.

Hungry?

A well fed baby is a happy baby. Please feed and burp baby right before or upon arriving to our session. This will ensure a

nice sleepy "milk drunk" babe. I am also happy to take as many breaks as baby needs. If they get hungry during a shoot

it's no problem. It's tough work being a model!

The Nitty Gritty

Poop happens! Please don't be upset or feel bad if baby decides it's time to go potty

when baby is in the buff and being photographed! This is totally natural and it's just part of the job.I

launder all blankets with non-scented baby detergent between sessions. It would definitely be helpful to bring extra wipes

and blankets available for when things get messy, though.

Warm it up

Crank the heat! It's super important that your naked babe feel all toasty when we are doing naked poses/ changing

clothes. If they're cold they're likely going to be awake/upset. We will try to keep it about 80 degrees. If you're sweating

then the baby is likely the perfect temp!

Dry skin for baby

Many newborns will have flaky skin during those first few weeks of life. We suggest bringing some lotion with you to put on

baby right before the shoot. If you're not comfortable applying anything to babys skin we can smooth babys skin during

editing.

What to wear

If you plan on being in some of the shots with baby we suggest wearing neutral, well fitting clothing that you're comfy in.

The same goes for siblings. Avoid bold prints and graphic tees. Mom and and dads hands will likely be in the shots so

please make sure nails are clean and manicured.

Relax and enjoy this sweet session with your new baby. We will talk through every step together.
